Giuseppe Livio’s one-man exhibition, divided into periods, seeks to make us understand the charm and artistic importance of the artist, the spontaneous features typical of his art, which are capable of grasping the curious aspects of life, the poetic of memory, the grotesque, irony.

With this remarkable collection of works, the walls of the GeD legal office lose their function as a limit; their continuity is interrupted by the artist’s signs, and they explode in fragments that intersect, invading the visual horizon. The walls become a landscape view, from which the work takes shape, and in which every element is strongly controlled by the artist, who decidedly wants to redefine space as a habitat of memory. There thus develops a creative painterly itinerary privileging inspiration, trying to grasp the sense of time, and deepening the perceptive aspects of colour, sign and light, leaving echoes of a personal story. Giuseppe Livio’s art surprises us, it eradicates abandoned feelings, it is immediate, strong, pleasant, it takes space in our thoughts, in our reflections, in our memories. It is figures running after one another, a fluctuation of forms, gestures, glances and colour interweaving, to the point of becoming a hallucinatory walk in another world, a reading of reflection on time and on states of mind.

Looking at the strength of Livio’s works, one thinks of the convulsive brushstrokes of Ligabue, the visionary and fiercely ironic painting of Bosch, that of the metaphysical signs of Dalì, stretches of colour that preserve the desire to speak without metaphors, as if freeing oneself from oneself. With an eye on the great artists, Livio’s paintings manifest the contact with the other, tightly correlated with clear perception due to experience lived in the pathway of life, which leads him to imagine, with visionary fantasy, unreal stories, fairytale ones, romantic ones, which become poetry and dialogue with an internal tension of feelings that seeks clarities. They are internal voices, testimonies of loneliness and, at the same time, of affective relationships, of friendships, of agreements, of harmonies …

La personale di Giuseppe Livio, articolata per periodi, prova a far comprendere il fascino e l'importanza artistica dell'autore, i tratti spontanei tipici della sua arte capaci di cogliere gli aspetti curiosi della vita, la poetica della memoria, il grottesco, l’ironia.

Con questa straordinaria collezione di opere, i muri dello studio legale GeD perdono la loro funzione di limite, la loro continuità viene interrotta dai segni dell’artista ed esplodono in frammenti che si intersecano invadendo l’orizzonte visivo. Le pareti diventano una veduta di paesaggio, da cui l’opera prende corpo, in cui ogni elemento è fortemente controllato dall’artista che vuole, con decisione, ridefinire lo spazio come habitat della memoria. Si sviluppa così un percorso creativo pittorico privilegiando l’ispirazione, cercando di cogliere il senso del tempo, approfondendo gli aspetti percettivi del colore, del segno e della luce, lasciando echi di una storia personale. L’arte di Giuseppe Livio sorprende, sradica sentimenti abbandonati, è immediata, forte, piacevole, prende spazio nei nostri pensieri, nelle nostre riflessioni, nei nostri ricordi. É un rincorrere di figure, un fluttuare di forme, di gesti, di occhiate, di colore che si intrecciano, fino a diventare un’allucinata passeggiata in un mondo altro, una lettura di riflessione sul tempo e su stati d’animo.

Guardando alla forza delle opere di Livio, tornano agli occhi le pennellate convulse di Ligabue, la pittura visionaria dalla feroce ironia di Bosch, quella dei segni metafisici di Dalí, tratti di colore che conservano la volontà di dire senza metafore, come liberarsi da se stessi. Con uno sguardo ai grandi maestri, le pitture di Livio manifestano il contatto con l’altro da sé, strettamente correlato con la chiara percezione dall’esperienza vissuta nel percorso di vita, che lo spinge ad immaginare, con visionaria fantasia, storie chimeriche, fiabesche, romantiche, che diventano poesia e dialogano con una tensione interiore di sentimenti che cerca chiarezze. Sono voci interiori, testimonianze di solitudine e, allo stesso tempo, di rapporti affettivi, di amicizie, di intese, di armonie...
